Design project of a white kitchen in a classic style

An old apartment in Khrushchev has long been in need of major repairs. We had very little time to equip the kitchen, only a month and a half. And at first glance it seemed that to arrange something really worthwhile on this square would not work. But the eyes are afraid, and the hands are doing. Anyway, we had no choice.

It takes at least two months to make a kitchen set, so initially we decided on the furniture and ordered the project. While the builders began to repair the premises, we decided what we wanted to get.

Turning around on six squares is quite difficult, we definitely wanted to abandon the massive wall cabinets that would make the small room even more cramped and heavy. A must for our family is the availability of a dishwasher.

The dining table, in my opinion, is absolutely unnecessary, but I wanted to leave a place for a slate. It is very convenient when there is an affordable family messenger for general use. Such is our dream.

When arranging the kitchen, they immediately refused to combine the premises with the living room. Firstly, this is an extra waste of time and finance, which we were not ready to go. Secondly, we needed isolated rooms, at the same time we wanted to get a comfortable, functional, practical and not cluttered space.

To realize our desires, we needed the help of a specialist. We perfectly understood what we wanted to get as a result, but we did not know how to put it into practice. An experienced designer helped us turn our desire into reality. She thought through everything to the smallest detail, advised the best materials, in price and quality.

During the repair process, we encountered a number of difficulties, the main of which was the lack of dismantling of the old walls at the time of the measurements. As a result, discrepancies were allowed, but the deviation should be no more than 3 cm. We ordered a countertop under the windowsill with this tolerance. It turned out fine, this place replaced us with a dining area.

The difficulty was also in the fact that we could not decide on the choice of an oven. The fact that we need him was not in doubt, although we do not cook it every day. Standard-sized models did not suit us, and narrow devices cost much more than classic ovens. In addition, we prefer the equipment of famous brands, and reliable global manufacturers simply do not produce such models. Therefore, the choice was very limited.

My wife insisted that the kitchen must be bright. White color is a classic that fits perfectly in such a small room. Light colors create comfort, especially since our entire apartment is decorated in a similar scale, and the kitchen was no exception.

We did not worry about the fact that the kitchen will have to constantly maintain order, this is natural. More fear was that our baby Vova and the youngest member of the family - puppy Grisha would “kill” the white kitchen. But then they decided that this could happen with a kitchen of any color, and the fear receded.

We started the repair by dismantling all surfaces, moving the gas meter, laying new pipes, installing electrical wiring. We decorated the ceiling, the walls were tiled. By the way, we searched for a wall covering for quite a while, we wanted to make these surfaces white too.

But with a wide selection of light tiles, a glossy finish is mainly sold, and matte is more difficult to find. Once we saw the right option, but the Italian tiles we could not afford. In the end, it was by accident that they discovered a square wall tile of exactly the texture that they were looking for.

It turned out very elegant and stylish. I even managed to save a lot of money, however, I had to make small changes to the original project. At the time the kitchen set was ready, we had all the walls and the floor framed, pipes were installed, lighting was made, all the equipment was bought and an outlet for the hood was arranged.

We made the built-in lighting - three bulbs on a stretch ceiling, and a chandelier. By the way, the only one in the whole apartment. There is more than enough light for the kitchen. The floors were laid out with rectangular porcelain tiles, which they acquired almost immediately. They also quickly decided on the color, brown shades go well with white walls and light furniture.

All equipment was bought in the online store, with the exception of the dishwasher. She was already with us at the time of the move. All devices were brought and checked on the spot. We made special demands on the refrigerator. This unit should not be wider than 55 cm, otherwise it simply would not fit in the kitchen.

The hood was powerful, wide. It is worth noting that our walls are absolutely free, as we decided, we did not make a lot of wall cabinets. The only exception is a small cupboard in the corner, a range hood and an open shelf for small things.

The technique of black and gray colors was not chosen by chance; it looks good on a white background, diluting light colors. This makes the kitchen look more vibrant. The sink and mixer of well-known brands were also bought quickly. Chairs seen in one of the stores for a long time. They fit perfectly into the kitchen space in style.

The headset was ready a couple of days earlier than expected. Even his installation went without excesses. We were pleasantly surprised by this, since in the process of repair more than once we encountered difficulties. We mounted it quickly, and we became the owners of a brand new wonderful kitchen.

Our beautiful and bright kitchen cost about 300.0 thousand rubles, of which about 95.0 thousand were spent on sets, about 80.0 thousand rubles on appliances.

The repair is completed, there were only pleasant worries associated with restoring comfort. We are waiting - we will not wait when we gather in a circle of friends, we will set the table and we will conduct leisurely conversations in a pleasant atmosphere.
