Why Americans don't iron their clothes and walk around in crumpled clothes

For many people, ironing clothes after washing is a very unloved activity. Perhaps most of us would rather wash a mountain of dishes or a floor several times than iron a pile of washed laundry. Yes, the process is tedious, monotonous and very boring, because in other household chores there is at least some kind of dynamics.

But in America, ironing things (as a mandatory activity) has long been sent to the past. No, no, ever, never on the streets and you can meet a citizen in a perfectly pressed shirt or trousers, but this is rather a person who has a certain status, and therefore he simply cannot walk “wrinkled” supposed to. Most of the ordinary population, although they have both an iron and a board at home, they are in no hurry to iron things.

What kind of strangeness is this - not to iron things after washing?

In fact, there is no weirdness. Americans are more comfortable with how they dress. Ordinary citizens almost never wear trousers and shirts that need to be constantly ironed. Sweatpants, jeans, a T-shirt, a T-shirt, a sweater are convenient, comfortable, and it does not take much time to care for these clothes.

Even if you, being in the USA, go out into the street "rumpled", then no one will condemn or criticize you - no one will notice this at all. Because Russians in America can be distinguished even in a large crowd. Their clothes are always perfectly washed and ironed.

Why are Americans so indifferent to their appearance? In fact, US residents value their time and comfort very much. Let the clothes be wrinkled, but they should be comfortable and of high quality. In addition, even wealthy people dress simply and inconspicuously. Symbols of prosperity in this country are by no means expensive clothes, but a comfortable car, a good house in a prestigious area. After all, Americans love to buy clothes at a discount, like before Independence Day.

However, why the Americans do not iron things - no one will answer you, it is unlikely that they themselves have ever thought about this issue. Whether they save electricity and their own resources in this way, or whether it's just laziness is not clear. But usually, after washing, the laundry goes through another drying procedure in the dryer, and then it simply folds and goes to the closet.

And so it turns out that in the frantic pace of life, Americans simply do not have enough time to pay attention to such an activity as ironing. They don't care what others think of them. However, no one thinks anything about anyone, since almost all US citizens do not iron clothes. But at the same time they feel comfortable and do not attach much importance to this.
